    Joe Dzwonnik


    Profile                 My name is Joe Dzwonnik and I am 20 years old. This is my third year here at NIU. My parents are entrepreneurs and I have been involved with their businesses since I was a small child. I have experience with everything from commercial carpet cleaning, to hard wood floor installation, to bulk t-shirt printing and design, to creating websites, to interior decorating to running a small business.

                          In my high school I was top of my class, and also a class president for four years. I played in the band for eight years and was the section leader for the percussion department. I hosted fine art festivals, MC’ed sporting events, I even had the lead roll in the school play as McBeth. I was also on the golf team for four years, two of which I played Varsity. I was a active member of my school and community.

                          During my stay here at NIU I have started planing for my future business one day, and am in the works of getting it started. Currently I have several projects and plans in the works. I am the currently the webmaster for a new entrepreneurship student group MESA, I am also am in the NIU Model Illinois Government group as a house representative.


             Commercial Painter

Victor Painting, Chicago IL    2008-Present

Worked in various job sites all around the Chicago Suburbs. Spent time moving heavy equipment, painting interiors, assembling new furniture,  Worked in Plainfield, Naperville, and White Eagle

             Hardwood Floor installer

Spent Summers with my father and his employees installing premium hard wood floors. This job included precision cutting skills, fine attention to detail, hours of genuine hard work, and clean up. Worked in Plainfield, Naperville, and White Eagle


Raging Waves, Yorkville, IL    Summer of 2010-2011

Top tier lifeguard as a Shark. Provided aquatic safety to guests as they attended the water park. Also work with guests, operated rides, and cleaned park for open and closing. Attended weekly inservice, audited monthly  CPR certified, and I also had three assists and two saves over my stay there.

            LIFEguard/SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Kishwaukee Family YMCA, Dekalb, IL    Fall and Spring of 2010-2011

Provide aquatic safety for lap swimmers at the YMCA, includes early morning hours and keen eye over those who swim. Also provided swim lessons for young children, highly praised by parents and employer.

           Sandwich Artisan

Panera Bread, Dekalb, IL    Fall of 2011 to present

Associate, production line, dining room. Created gourmet sandwiches to order for. High volume where time was of essence. Managed inventory and received valuable knowledge of how a business is run and operated from an established company.
